We give thanks to God for twenty years of the Year 13 Gap Year program, an innovative one-year discipleship program for school leavers run by Anglican Youthworks, a ministry of the Diocese of Sydney, Australia.
Over the course of two decades this program has discipled over 1,200 students, challenging them to remain resilient Christians for the long haul through the structured one-year program, which is designed to mature faith, connect students with trusted mentors and other like-minded young people, and to build foundations to set them up for the rest of their life.
We thank God for the many Year 13 graduates who have continued to be active members of local Anglican churches, ministering in lay and ordained capacities, and we pray that similar initiatives will help strengthen Anglicans everywhere for ministry in their local church and across the globe.
