Prayer Update:

Violence in Tanzania

In Tanzania, a Gafcon Branch, protests have followed the general elections held on Wednesday 29 October. In several cities these demonstrations turned violent, though reports from local clergy say calm is beginning to return, especially in Dodoma, the capital.

This weekend, many churches were closed or nearly empty on Sunday as citizens were urged to remain indoors. Yet even when God’s people were unable to gather in person, we know that the Lord is with us by his Holy Spirit.

We thank God for signs of peace returning, and we pray for justice, truth, and healing for this nation. May the Anglican Church of Tanzania be a beacon of hope and reconciliation, and may her people faithfully and courageously guard God’s gospel through clear, orthodox preaching that calls all people to Christ.
