We thank God for the courage and conviction of Thomas Cranmer, as we mark this week the 470th anniversary of his martyrdom. As Archbishop of Canterbury and a leader of the English Reformation, Cranmer helped shape Anglican doctrine and liturgy, and stood firm in the truth of the gospel, even to the point of death.
His life and legacy continues to serve the Global Anglican Communion, calling us to guard God’s gospel with clarity and boldness. Through his leadership and the Book of Common Prayer, Cranmer anchored generations in the authority of Scripture and the riches of Christ.
Pray that, like Archbishop Thomas Cranmer, we would stand with courage and conviction—faithfully proclaiming the gospel and raising leaders to serve Christ and his church with humility and resolve.
