Please give thanks to God for the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, the Word of God written, which contain all things necessary for salvation. This wonderful confidence in God’s Word stands at the heart of the second article of the Jerusalem Declaration.
Praise God for the gift of the Bible, and for those who faithfully translate, read, preach and teach it throughout the world. Give thanks for the rich inheritance of Christians across the centuries who have received and faithfully proclaimed God’s Word.
Please pray that throughout the Global Anglican Communion we will not only read and teach the Bible, but obey it. May we receive Scripture in its plain and canonical sense, respecting the Church’s historic and consensual reading, and faithfully submit ourselves to its truth.
