Prayer Update:

The Anglican Province of Alexandria

We pray for The Anglican Province of Alexandria, which in 2020 emerged from the former Diocese of Egypt with North Africa and the Horn of Africa, which had experienced significant growth and expansion. The new province encompasses ten countries: Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Chad, Mauritania, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti, and Somalia. It is organised into four dioceses: Egypt, North Africa, the Horn of Africa, and Gambella.

The province is deeply committed to community development, healthcare, education, and interfaith dialogue, and All Saints’ Cathedral in Cairo serves as the spiritual centre of the province.

Since 2021, the Primate and Archbishop of Alexandria has been The Most Rev'd Samy Fawzy Shehata. Under his leadership, the province continues to play a pivotal role in fostering Christian unity, engaging in interfaith dialogue, and addressing the social and spiritual needs of the communities it serves.
