We pray for The Anglican Diocese of Sydney, the largest diocese within the Anglican Church of Australia, overseeing more than 400 churches with around 45,000 weekly adult attenders, which is around a third of Australia’s Anglican Sunday worshippers. The diocese emphasises biblical fidelity, evangelism, theological education (notably via Moore Theological College), youth and children’s ministry (through Anglican Youthworks), and comprehensive aid, development and ministry support (via Anglicare and Anglican Aid.)
Since 2021, the diocese has been led by The Archbishop of Sydney, The Most Rev’d Kanishka Raffel. Formerly the cathedral’s Dean, he is the first archbishop of non-European descent.
The Diocese’s influence extends nationally and globally, serving as a key hub for conservative Anglican thought, theological training, church planting, and social service—particularly in supporting missionary work and marginalised communities.
