Please pray for the people of South Sudan following a fresh humanitarian appeal from the Rt Revd Joseph Aba Nicanor, Bishop of Liwolo. Thousands of families have been displaced by renewed violence along the South Sudan-Uganda border, and the bishop has urgently appealed to governments, humanitarian agencies, churches, and the international community to protect civilians, provide emergency relief, and work for lasting peace.
Pray for the safety of those who have fled their homes, especially children, the elderly, and the vulnerable. Ask the Lord to comfort those who are grieving, strengthen church leaders as they care for their communities, and provide food, shelter, medical care, and hope for all who are suffering.
Please also pray for wisdom and restraint among political and military leaders in both South Sudan and Uganda. May God bring an end to the violence, protect innocent lives, and enable the Church in South Sudan to continue faithfully proclaiming Christ's peace in the midst of hardship.
