Prayer Update:

Orthodox Anglicans in Tanzania

We pray for the Anglican Church of Tanzania, with its 28 dioceses and membership of over two-and-a-half-million parishioners.

Bishop Mwita Akiri is Branch Chairman of Gafcon Tanzania and former Provincial Secretary of the Anglican Church of Tanzania, and he invites us to especially pray for the twelve Tanzanian bishops who publicly associate with Gafcon, and the ongoing pressure within the province to embrace the revisionist doctrines promoted by Canterbury-aligned organisations who offer financial support.

Having retired as Bishop of Tarime Diocese in March, he asks us to pray for his involvement with ministry training in Tanzania, and his role as a visiting lecturer at Uganda Christian University and Wycliffe College, Toronto.

Gafcon stands with orthodox Anglicans in Tanzania, as together we guard God’s gospel, and work to generate missional resources that offer sustainable alternatives to finances that come with revisionist strings attached.
