We give thanks to God for the appointment of The Venerable Barrister Festus Opara, PhD, as the new General Secretary of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion. This is a vital leadership role within the largest province in the Global Anglican Communion.
The General Secretary serves as the chief administrative officer of the Church, working closely with The Most Revd Dr Henry C. Ndukuba, Primate of All Nigeria and member of the Gafcon Primates’ Council, to coordinate national activities, communications, and governance in accordance with the Constitution and Canons of the Church of Nigeria.
Pray that the Lord will grant Ven. Opara great wisdom, grace, and strength to serve faithfully — helping to guard God’s gospel, strengthen the Church, and advance the mission of Christ throughout Nigeria and beyond.
