We give thanks to God for the decision of the Global Anglican Council to establish the headquarters of the Global Anglican Communion in Abuja, Nigeria. This significant decision was made at the Council’s meeting in Recife, Brazil, on Saturday 22 August.
Abuja holds a special place in our shared history. At G26 earlier this year, the Abuja Affirmation declared that Gafcon has reordered the Anglican Communion into a truly Global Church. We pray that this new home will become a place for gathering, training and equipping leaders for the proclamation of the gospel and building up of Christ’s Church.
Please pray for God’s wisdom as plans develop, and that from Abuja we may faithfully serve and strengthen Global Anglicans throughout the world.
