Praise God that over 200 people from churches across Ireland gathered in Belfast on Monday for a First Things event with The Rt Revd Paul Donison, General Secretary of Gafcon, who spoke on “Contending together for the gospel.” ’First Things’ is a collective of three Irish Anglican evangelical groupings along with the Gafcon Ireland branch.
We give thanks for the faithful ministry of Bishop Donison as he preached from John 20 and Jude 1–4, pointing to Jesus revealed in the Scriptures as the only source of eternal life. We praise God for the call to defend the faith once delivered to the saints.
Give thanks for the unity and encouragement shared that night, and pray that believers in Ireland and around the world will keep the Scriptures central in all they do, as together with Gafcon they are Gathering, Guarding, Growing, and Generating to the glory of God.
