Give thanks for the ministry of Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of Alexandria and a member of the Gafcon Primates’ Council, who recently spoke at the Second Evangelistic Festival of the Sudanese Service. Preaching from the theme “Can These Bones Live?”, he reminded those gathered that the Holy Spirit revives dry and weary hearts, and that in Christ we find living water that never runs dry. Pray that his words would encourage many to place their hope afresh in the Lord Jesus.
Give thanks also for the testimony of Bishop Dr. Yasser Eric, Adviser to the Gafcon Primates’ Council, who expressed gratitude for the welcome that Sudanese Christians have found in Egypt during these difficult times. He praised the hospitality of the Egyptian people and churches of many denominations who have opened their homes and congregations to the Sudanese community. Pray that this spirit of fellowship would continue to strengthen bonds between Christians across nations.
Ask the Lord to bless the partnership of Archbishop Fawzy and Bishop Eric, as they serve together in leadership with Gafcon, that through them, the Anglican Communion in Africa would be strengthened in mission and faithful witness to Christ.
