We praise God for the regular confirmation services conducted by bishops around the world, as disciples of Christ publicly affirm their faith, receive prayer for the strengthening of the Holy Spirit, and are formally welcomed as mature members of the Church.
We are thankful for the recent confirmation of 112 young believers at St. Francis Chapel, Makerere University Uganda, by The Most Revd Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, Archbishop of the Church of Uganda and Bishop of Kampala, and a member of the Gafcon Primates Council.
In his sermon, Archbishop Kaziimba urged the newly confirmed to grow in spiritual maturity, as they stand firm in the faith, read their Bibles, pray regularly, and reflect Christ in their character. He urged them to use social media to build up the gospel, not to tear others down, and to hold fast to sound doctrine.
May the Lord strengthen these and many other confirmees to guard God’s gospel as they glorify him in their lives.
