Communique:

New Gafcon Diocese and Bishop serving the UK and Europe

Dear Brothers and Sisters of Gafcon,

I am delighted to announce the establishment of a new Gafcon diocese, to be led by our newest bishop-elect, the Venerable Dr Gideon Ilechukwu.

Thirteen years ago he planted a church in Manchester, England, which has now grown to a fellowship of 39 churches with 52 ministers across the UK and Europe.

We rejoice with orthodox Anglicans around the world as we witness the power of the Holy Spirit as he brings life and light to our world that deeply needs the gospel of God.

The Gafcon Anglican Network in Europe will inaugurate this fellowship of congregations into a new diocese called ‘Anglican Missionary Congregations (AMC) Europe’, and with the endorsement of the Chairman of our Primates’ Council, they will consecrate and install Gideon as its bishop, to serve under Bishop Andy Lines.

Gafcon is uniquely equipped to resource and recognise new dioceses like this, and through your partnership, you can help our movement grow and serve faithful Anglicans across the globe.

The Anglican Network in Europe warmly invites you to attend this service on October 15 in Manchester, England, and details can be found on their Anglican Network in Europe website.

Please pray for Gideon and the Anglican Missionary Congregations (AMC) Europe Diocese, and the opportunities for Gafcon to continue to equip him and his churches for mission.

We thank God for your prayers and financial support that enable us to provide crucial leadership and support for new churches, leaders and dioceses around the world.

To partner financially with the mission of Gafcon, please donate here or reply to this email to discuss how you can support us as we seek to strengthen orthodox Anglicans everywhere.

As our Gafcon family launches this new Anglican ministry, please join us in praying to the Lord, “that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations!” (Psalm 67:2)

The Rt Revd Paul Donison
Gafcon General Secretary

PS: Your gift to Gafcon helps us grow global mission… thank you!
