Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit welcomed by GAFCON Primates
Following his enthronement as the sixth Archbishop of Kenya on Sunday 3rd July in All Saints’ Cathedral, Nairobi, the Most Rev Jackson Ole Sapit met with the GAFCON Primates who had travelled from as far away as South America to be present for this day of prayer, preaching and colourful celebration.

ABOUT THE BLOG
Archbishop Jensen been the General Secretary of GAFCON since its beginnings in 2008. He is a graduate of the Universities of London, Sydney and Oxford and has taught Historical and Systematic Theology. He was ordained in Sydney in 1969 and was the Principal of Moore Theological College from 1985 until he was elected Archbishop of Sydney in 2001, a post he held until he retired in 2013. He is the author of several books and gave the Boyer Lectures on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in 2005 on the subject of The Future of Jesus. He is married to Christine and they have five adult children and twenty four grandchildren.

In January this year, the Primates of the Anglican Communion were summoned by the Archbishop of Canterbury to a meeting. So serious is the crisis in the Communion about the authority of God’s word that almost every Primate attended.

This year, May 29th has been designated as a unique Sunday to pray for the Anglican Communion and give to the work of the larger Church. It is an exciting time to be an Anglican, and an important moment to stand for the truth and be counted.
